Some running and some hiking.

Hola! It feels like I have fallen off the blogging wagon, but I am alive I swear. Since we last talked I've only run twice I think so here's the stats from those glorious few hours.

12/31: 9 miles, 1:21:01, avg pace 9:00min/mile.

I finally got myself outside with a partially charged Garmin to test out how my legs felt on pavement instead of the mill. Surprisingly this run felt amazing, with the exception of my left knee and quad tightening up a bit. I was worried about the hills and wind and anything else that happens naturally when I run outside, but it was so beautiful and the neighborhood was so zen about it being NYE, it couldn't help be be super enjoyable. I saw 2 mountain ranges and tons of neighbors, it was lovely.

1/4: 45 minutes treadmill, approx 4.5-5miles, easy. On Saturday we took a beautiful hike around Cougar Mountain (photos coming below) but my clumsiness won out and I fell hard core on my butt  and my tailbone/left upper hip bone thing has been sore ever since. Running felt okay tonight but with my proneness for injury and stupidity I didn't feel bad taking a few days off before trying to run. Also, can we talk about Cougar Mountain? We were passed by more trail runners than walkers and they all had the glow. It reminded me that I need to get back in the woods, stat.

I didn't snack appropriately at work today so I rummaged the Stridebox for these guys. I chewed on a few of these during my run tonight. Pretty tasty! I think they are just straight up sugar so duh. But you'd be surprised how some running/sport chews screw it up. These tasted like fake fruit gummies and were perfect. They're hanging out on the treadmill in case I need them later.

As far as resolutions and goals go, I've got a few. I listed the days and distances I want to run this week on my calendar as well as a day for Yoga. That's right, this rigid rubberband woman will become flexy once again, and hopefully not as broken as I have been the last 18 months. Another goal is to get out more on my local trails. This beauty is only about 25 minutes away. Done.

Hope you guys are having a great week so far. I made it through Monday mostly unscathed and am feeling like I can most likely make it through my first 5 day work week in what seems like forever (uh 2 weeks?). Let's do it.
