Park trails and Ravenna 4

Work from home day meant I got to treat myself to a better running route and earlier time. I spent most of the run on trails within the park, but the views from the beach were pretty sweet too. Gotta love the huge volcano in our backyard.

9/22: 5.1 miles, 9:30 avg pace

Yesterday I found a local trail 10k this weekend and am signing up as soon as I'm done typing this out. My training plan has 7 miles on the schedule, so I will actually do a warmup or cool down plus the race. The half in November is on a trail so I'm trying get some practice on new terrain instead of all roads and treadmills. Needless to say this will not be a race race as I have never run a trail race and have no idea how different or not it will be. Someday I will be coordinated enough to take a pic while running the trails. They are so beautiful at Seward Park, it seems unreal that the city is so close. Until then my friends, you just get duck pics.

The route today was beautiful but my outfit was not. I was so stoked that I could see my breath this morning that I grabbed my long running tights/leggings that are not actually running pants without thinking. There was a lot of hiking them up and readjusting that could have been avoided and was probably not pleasant for others I saw this morning. I also pulled my old Ravenna 4s from the closet to change things up. I retired these guys super early at about 100 miles a while back because I was so much happier in my Wave Rider 16s, but I couldn't remember what exactly I didn't like about them. They felt alright today, no new or different pains and twinges than usual, but nothing spectacular either. I'll probably keep them around and I try when I need a shake up, but they are not my faves, that is for sure.

It's gorgeous here today so I am feeling very grateful I got to spend some time outside on a usual workday. Now to spend some $$ on an entry and get back to work work.
