Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I woke up, drank loads of coffee, and headed out for a run before starting the festivities yesterday.
11/26: 3.04 miles, 26:45 min + 1 .06 Mira Miles - Total Time 37:19, 9:06 avg pace, 4.1 miles.
I had a tempo run on the schedule for Tuesday that I missed so I thought picking up the pace on my neighborhood hills would be a good idea if I could muster it to try and make up for the missed workout. I was pretty happy to see Mile 1 9:31, Mile 2 8:49, and Mile 3 8:09. Not so much because of the actual paces, but more because I actually ran faster after I decided to. That sounds weird, but after a lot of treadmill runs lately I feel like I've lost a bit of my ability to really control my pace when I'm used to the machine doing it for me. Plus I kept up the pace up the final hill toward my house which is usually where I start to slow way down. After I got home I picked up Mira for a mile of her own to cool down and for her to get to enjoy the cold, she is a sled dog after all.
Afterward we cleaned the house, said goodbye to our pups and went to Thanksgiving where the dog to human ratio was about 1:2 so I was pretty happy. Plus you know, family and delicious food, and watching Scream Queens on a giant tv screen. All around a good holiday.
My aunt made a caramel apple pie and a pumpkin pie with ginger cookie crust. After eating them I realized it might be a great idea if I learned how to make pie so it didn't have to just be a once a year thing. There was also amazing stuffing, turkey, cranberry sauce, brussel sprouts, and gravy. I forget how much I love basically ALL of the Thanksgiving foods.
Now off to Christmas!!
Did you run on Thanksgiving?
